National Volunteer Week is one of our favorite times of the year. There are few things better than giving away cool prizes to volunteers that do great things all around the world. We heard many stories over the course of the week, all of which were inspiring!

2014 National Volunteer Week grand prize winners:

Sarah Halberg, Volunteer to Kenya

Sarah Halberg, volunteer to Kenya, worked with a team to create films of the conditions in Kenya. The purpose is to mobilize organizations to go these places and help those in need

Al Akimoff, Volunteer in Eastern Europe

Al Akimoff visited the site of a devastating 1988 earthquake in Gyumri, Armenia. Al and his team provide discipleship training courses to the local community as a way to help rebuild the city.

Al Akimoff  has been a volunteer in Eastern Europe for the past 44 years. This trip took Al to Gyumri, Armenia, the site of a devastating earthquake in 1988.
